Terms & ConditionsIn response to new US and Canadian government regulations, Idle Awhile will be offering complimentary antigen testing for all US and Canadian guests staying 5 nights or more 24-hours prior to returning home.* This complimentary testing will be conducted on property by a contracted medical provider and results will be provided via email within 24-hours.
Testing is no longer required by the Canadian government for fully vaccinated travelers returning home. Unvaccinated travelers will still be required to provide proof of an accepted type of negative COVID-19 result pre-entry.** Idle Awhile will also be offering complimentary antigen testing for required guests 24-hours prior to returning home for guests staying 5 nights or more.
We promise to provide fast, free testing on-site so the last day of your vacation will be as fun and worry-free as the first! Antigen tests for appropriate travelers will be scheduled during check-in at the resort. Guests will be responsible for arriving during the testing window provided. If missed, guests will have to reschedule or make their own arrangements. If a guest claims a false-positive result, they can immediately retest at their own expense. In keeping with CDC guidelines, US guests who test positive are required to quarantine for 5 days. Residents of Canada are required to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days after receiving a positive result. Idle Awhile will provide complimentary accommodation for your entire quarantine period. If additional rooms are necessary, a separate room will be available at a discounted rate. Current terms and conditions are valid until the Jamaican government directs otherwise. This may change without notice based on the direction and requirements of the CDC and DOT.
Disclaimer: *For guests staying 2 paid nights or more, a complimentary sample will be collected by a contracted medical provider at the property where the guest is staying, and results will be available via email within 24 hours. Guests staying less than 2 paid nights will incur the costs of testing themselves. The cost for an antigen test is approximately $25 USD per person. Prices are subject to change. **Accepted pre-entry tests include a valid antigen test, negative molecular test taken no more than 72 hours before their initially scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or marine port of entry. A previous positive molecular test taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before their initially scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or marine port of entry. Positive antigen tests will not be accepted. All travelers continue to be required to submit their mandatory information to ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) before their arrival in Canada. Travelers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may have to test on arrival and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status. Travelers taking a plane must submit their information in ArriveCAN within 72 hours before boarding. Canadians can stay up to date by going here.
