How do I get to Idle Awhile from the airport?

Taxis, private transfers, and shared shuttles are plentiful and available at Sangster International Airport (MBJ). The resort can help arrange for private shuttle service to and from the airport for an added fee.

How to get to Jamaica from Europe?

European travellers can fly via major hubs (London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam) to Jamaica (often via U.S. or via Toronto/Montreal). Direct flights from Europe to Jamaica are available during high season. Upon arrival into MBJ, visitors must follow the standard immigration/entry process, then transfer to the resort. It’s wise to check for any stopovers, transit entry requirements, and passport validity rules for your nationality.

The Beach Package

Designed for 50 to 100 guests, the Beach Wedding Package features access to beautiful locations for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner, as well as stemware, flatware, and plates.

$2,500 location fee (50 guests)
$4,000 location fee (100 guests)

Package requires booking the hotel's 16 garden and oceanfront deluxe guest rooms and suites for a minimum of three nights. A non-refundable payment of US$1,000 is required to secure your event date.
For each additional wedding guest staying off-property, a per-person fee of US$15, plus 10% tax and 10% service charge, applies.

What entry documents do I need to enter Jamaica?

For U.S, Canada, and U.K. citizens, a valid passport is required. All other international guests may need a visa. Please consult with your travel professional, local Jamaican consulate, or tourism board.

Jamaica also requires that all travelers complete an online passenger declaration before their scheduled arrival. This new requirement aims to streamline the entry process and enhance the overall travel experience for visitors. It is recommended that visitors complete the form ahead of time to ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry into Jamaica. Download the form here.

Should I bring an electrical adapter?

Jamaica uses 110 volts and 50 cycles. We advise guests visiting from outside the US or Canada to bring their own adapter.

Is the resort secure?

Beach access and grounds of our resorts are patrolled by a contracted security company. If you wish to go off exploring the island, we will arrange for a guide who is familiar with Jamaica to escort you. Such excursions may be arranged through the resort’s front desk for an additional charge. All guest rooms have key locks and an in-room safe.

What is the weather like in Jamaica?

Jamaica enjoys a year-round tropical climate, with an average daytime temperature of 82°F (28°C) and an average nighttime temperature is 72°F (22°C). February is the coolest month, while July and August are the warmest. The Caribbean Sea is always warm, and refreshing, with temperatures averaging between 80°F (26.6°C) about 84°F (28.8°C).

What is the smoking policy on property?

We comply with Jamaican law directives in regard to Jamaica's smoking policy. Therefore, we do not allow smoking under any roof, which includes room balconies. We do have designated smoking areas at each resort.

What is the accepted form of currency?

The Jamaican dollar is the legal currency of the island. However, most merchants also widely accept U.S. dollars, traveler’s checks, and all major credit cards.
